Three of the most beautiful hiking areas come together here: Hochsauerland, Diemelsee Nature Park and Waldecker Land with the certified hiking trails Uplandsteig and Rothaarsteig and peaks up to 843 m with breathtaking views. Hikers have hundreds of kilometres of paths at their disposal.

Willingen has the second largest ski area in the Sauerland region with long pistes, a modern gondola lift and many cross-country skiing trails.
Willingen is not only known as a winter sports resort and health resort, but has also become a hotspot for mountain bike enthusiasts. The Sauerland region has the best downhill cycle parks in Germany, great tours for mountain bikers – as well as beautiful cycle paths for trekking – and family tours.
